
Delicious Chocolate Brownie


- 4oz / 110g margarine or butter
- 8oz / 225g sugar 2 eggs – *don’t beat just very lightly mix together
- 4oz / 110g plain flour
- ½ level tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 4 level tablespoons cocoa
- Fudge icing for topping (if required)
- 8oz / 225g icing sugar
- 3 level tablespoons cocoa
- Sieve together and then add
- 1 egg yolk
- 2oz / 55g very soft margarine or butter
- 3 tablespoons hot water
- Bakeware Recommended

- Melt margarine and sugar in pan over a low heat. Remove from heat and add all dry ingredients, then *eggs.
- Mix together with wooden spoon (takes seconds).
- Turn into a greased, non-stick 8” x 8” x 2” tin and bake at gas mark 4 / 350oF / 180oC for 30 – 35 minutes. It may not seem as if it is cooked but needs to be a bit soft.
- Cut into squares or fingers whilst warm BUT leave to cool completely before turning out.
- Beat until smooth and spread on top of cooked cake.
